Role Responsibilities

The Primary Care Corridor Transformation team is seeking two experienced and strategic leaders to fill the positions of Director, Change Management and Director, System Planning. These positions play a key role in advancing Alberta’s primary care transformation agenda through strategic leadership, stakeholder collaboration, system planning, and change implementation. The successful candidates will lead complex initiatives that support a more integrated, accessible, and sustainable primary and preventative health care system for Albertans.

Director, Change Management Key Responsibilities:

• Lead stakeholder engagement and change management strategies that support the successful implementation of primary care transformation initiatives across Alberta.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with health system partners, government ministries, health care providers, and community stakeholders to foster collaboration and alignment.
• Provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior leadership on stakeholder issues, implementation risks, emerging opportunities, and transformation priorities.
• Develop and implement change management, communication, and stakeholder readiness plans that support sustainable system change.
• Lead complex consultations and engagement activities to inform decision-making, build consensus, and advance government priorities.
• Identify and mitigate risks, barriers, and interdependencies that may impact the successful delivery of transformation initiatives.
• Provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing work environment.

Director, System Planning Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of strategies, frameworks, and system plans that support the transformation of Alberta’s primary and preventative care system.
• Assess current and emerging health system needs, service gaps, trends, and system pressures to inform planning priorities and strategic decision-making.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on complex health system issues, policy considerations, service delivery models, and system improvement opportunities.
• Lead the development of recommendations and implementation approaches that support Primary Care Corridor Transformation initiatives.
• Use data, evidence, and stakeholder input to inform planning, policy development, and decision-making.
• Establish effective governance, accountability, and risk management processes to support planning activities and major initiatives.
• Provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing work environment.

Qualifications

University graduation in a related field such as Health Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a Health Sciences, supplemented by seven years of progressively responsible experience. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one of one basis:

Assets:

• Experience working within Alberta’s health system, particularly in primary care, preventative care, or health system transformation.
• Experience working with Primary Care Networks, Primary Care Alberta, health care providers, or other health sector partners.
• Experience leading large-scale health-system transformation initiatives involving multiple organizations, stakeholders, and governance structures.
• Experience developing health system strategies, policy frameworks, implementation plans, or system-level improvement initiatives.
• Experience using data, evidence, and health information to support strategic planning, policy development, and executive decision-making.

Notes

Hours of work are 08:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. This competition will be used to fill two (2) full-time permanent Director positions, working 36.25 hours per week, located in downtown Edmonton. Final candidates will be required to undergo a criminal records check (CRC).
