Job Summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Priority Populations to join Fraser Health’s Learning Strategies and Professional Practice team, working in close collaboration with Population and Public Health.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced advanced practice nurse who is passionate about health equity, culturally safe care, and improving health outcomes for marginalized and priority populations.

As the CNS for Priority Populations, you will help elevate the standard of care by integrating advanced clinical expertise, leadership, education, and innovation. Working collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams, you will provide clinical guidance, support the development of evidence-informed practices, and lead initiatives that strengthen care for individuals who may experience homelessness and other barriers to accessing health services.

Your work will take a holistic approach to health, recognizing the intersection between physical health, mental health, and the social determinants of health.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

• Provide advanced clinical leadership, consultation, and guidance related to the care of priority and marginalized populations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance evidence-informed clinical practices and protocols.
• Lead and support the development of decision-support tools, educational resources, and practice resources.
• Champion approaches that promote low-barrier, culturally safe, person-centred, and wrap-around care.
• Support Fraser Health’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion by identifying opportunities to reduce barriers and enhance equitable access to care.
• Apply advanced nursing knowledge and evidence to strengthen clinical practice and improve health outcomes.
• Partner with teams across Learning Strategies and Professional Practice, Population and Public Health, and other areas to support innovative and sustainable improvements in care.

Qualifications

You bring:

• A Master’s degree in Nursing. Other graduate degrees may be considered depending on the area of specialty.
• Five (5) years of recent, related nursing experience, including three (3) years of recent, related experience in a clinical area relevant to the specialty.
• The same practice qualifications required of a staff nurse within the applicable clinical area.
• Current practicing registration as a RN/RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
