Course Description:

This course serves as the cornerstone generative AI (GenAI) experience for business students, providing essential knowledge and skills that can be applied across different business functions. Students learn to effectively use GenAI by understanding the technology and applying effective prompting techniques, templates, and tools for business innovation. The course progresses from fundamental concepts and prompt engineering to building functional software solutions using AI-assisted development tools, while examining ethical implications and strategic considerations for AI deployment in business contexts.

Students will explore a wide spectrum of GenAI capabilities including autonomous agents, multimodal content generation, and advanced workflow automation. The course emphasizes hands-on learning through direct use of AI platforms, API integration, and no-code development tools. Students work with cutting-edge concepts including retrieval augmented generation (RAG), fine-tuning, multi-agent systems, and AI workflow automation while developing practical solutions to real business challenges. Innovation methodology is integrated throughout the course, covering systematic thinking approaches, structured ideation processes, customer needs analysis, and problem-solution fit assessment for AI-powered innovations.

The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31. These rates do not included vacation pay nor statutory pay. These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.

Requirements:

Must have a Master's or MBA degree (PhD preferred) in the area of the course, with extensive knowledge (minimum 10 years) of business innovation including demonstrated knowledge and application of Generative AI tools. Must demonstrate an expert understanding of various AI tools and their application in business contexts. Must demonstrate previous experience in leveraging experiential learning to support a dynamic learning environment.
