Position Overview

We are looking for a commercially focused Commercial Manager to oversee the financial and contractual aspects of construction and project-related activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Finance, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline, together with substantial commercial management experience and excellent English communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and financial aspects of projects from tendering through completion.
• Prepare and review project budgets, cost plans, cash flow forecasts, and financial reports.
• Oversee contract administration, variations, claims, valuations, and payment applications.
• Monitor project costs, profitability, and commercial risks.
• Lead tender reviews, bid pricing, subcontractor negotiations, and procurement activities.
• Review contractual terms and ensure compliance with commercial obligations.
• Work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, finance teams, and external stakeholders.
• Prepare commercial reports and provide recommendations to improve project margins.
• Support dispute resolution and negotiate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Finance, Commercial Management, or a related field.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience, preferably within construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost control, contract management, project finance, and commercial negotiations.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and relevant commercial or project management systems.
• Candidates with experience in South Africa, Eastern Europe, or other relevant international markets are preferred.
