Senior Product Owner

3x Senior Product Owner roles within the Document Management Team (2x permanent; 1x 6 months fixed term contract)

Lead the strategy and delivery of intelligent document processing and customer communication capabilities. Shape services that improve critical customer communications across the Group. As a Senior Product Owner, you will define the vision, strategy and roadmap for critical document management capabilities used across the Group. You’ll lead the delivery of secure and scalable services that improve customer experiences, strengthen operational performance and support strategic transformation.

The Document Management Crew enables intelligent document processing, customer communications, digital signing, and content management capabilities across CommBank. The Crew is modernising legacy platforms and introducing next-generation services that use automation, artificial intelligence and cloud technology while respecting and protecting customer data.

You will lead a high-performing, cross-functional squad focused on either Intelligent Document Processing or Customer Communication Services.

In this role, you will:

• Define and own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, objectives, and success measures.
• Lead product discovery, opportunity assessment, and prioritisation to maximise customer and business value.
• Partner with Engineering Managers, architects, and delivery teams to shape technology strategy and deliver end-to-end outcomes.
• Own and maintain the product backlog, balancing customer needs, commercial outcomes, risk obligations, and technical constraints.
• Influence stakeholders across business, technology, operations, architecture, risk, compliance, and privacy.
• Use data, customer insights, and experimentation to guide decisions and track product performance.
• Lead platform modernisation and continuous improvement across secure, resilient, and scalable services.
• Coach and empower the squad while maintaining accountability for production health, operational resilience, and product controls.

We’re interested to hear from you if:

• You are an experienced product leader who can set a clear direction, make thoughtful decisions in complex environments, and bring diverse teams together around shared outcomes. You combine customer and commercial thinking with strong technology and risk awareness.
• Have demonstrated experience as a Senior Product Owner or in a comparable strategic product leadership role.
• Have led cross-functional agile squads delivering complex technology products or transformation initiatives.
• Can define compelling product visions, strategies, roadmaps, objectives, and measurable outcomes.
• Build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders across business, engineering, architecture, operations, and risk.
• Apply strong customer, commercial and risk judgement when balancing competing priorities.
• Use data, insights, automation, or artificial intelligence to identify opportunities and improve outcomes.
• Understand the importance of security, privacy, resilience, compliance, and controls by design.
• Create an inclusive team environment built on ownership, accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
