Senior bim designer / bim leader

About the role

Our Melbourne Building Team are seeking an experienced Senior BIM Designer to join our growing Mechanical and Electrical Building Services team. This role is ideal for a BIM professional with a strong background in either Mechanical or Electrical engineering projects who is looking to take the next step into a technical leadership position. You will play a key role in the delivery of major projects across sectors including Data Centres, Healthcare, Commercial and Mission Critical Facilities, working closely with engineers, project managers and digital delivery specialists.

As part of an established multidisciplinary Digital Engineering team, you will help drive BIM best practice, mentor developing designers and contribute to the successful delivery of complex building services projects. You'll also have access to Stantec's national and international digital engineering networks, providing opportunities to grow your leadership capabilities and help shape the future of BIM delivery within our Buildings business.

Main responsibilities:

• Lead BIM and digital design delivery for major building services projects.
• Develop, coordinate and manage Mechanical and Electrical BIM models using Revit.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and project teams to deliver coordinated design solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to developing BIM Designers and Modellers.
• Identify opportunities to improve digital delivery processes through innovation and automation.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and deliverables.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and uphold Stantec's quality, safety and professional standards.

Experience and qualifications:

• Significant experience working within a Building Services Engineering Consultancy.
• Demonstrated experience delivering BIM projects within either Mechanical or Electrical building services disciplines.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and associated BIM software platforms.
• Strong understanding of building services design, construction documentation and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience leading BIM delivery on complex projects.
• Ability to review, troubleshoot and resolve BIM and model coordination issues.
• Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Relevant technical qualifications in engineering, design drafting, BIM or a related discipline.
• A passion for innovation, continuous improvement and digital engineering excellence.
