Job Description

Join the Allied Health team at Hollywood Private Hospital as a Casual Occupational Therapy Assistant, supporting Occupational Therapists to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will assist with therapy programs and activities that support patients' rehabilitation, independence and wellbeing throughout their hospital journey.

About You

You are a compassionate, reliable and motivated person who enjoys supporting patients and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. You bring excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and a genuine commitment to helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Occupational Therapists in the delivery of individual and group therapy programs
• Assist patients with therapy activities and exercises as directed by the Occupational Therapist
• Support patients with activities that promote independence, mobility and participation in daily living
• Assist with setting up and maintaining therapy areas and equipment
• Communicate appropriately with patients, families and members of the multidisciplinary team
• Observe and report relevant patient information and progress to the Occupational Therapist
• Maintain accurate documentation as required
• Assist with equipment and resource management
• Follow infection prevention, workplace health and safety and manual handling procedures
• Maintain patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times

You Will Also Bring

• Previous experience in a healthcare, rehabilitation, disability or aged care environment
• An interest in Occupational Therapy and patient rehabilitation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A caring, respectful and patient-centred approach
• Ability to follow instructions and work within the scope of the role
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to patient safety, privacy and quality care
• Reliable and flexible approach to casual work
