Associate technical consultant, infrastructure

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer to join our Perth-based Ports & Marine team. We are seeking a confident, delivery-focused and client-facing individual with strong technical expertise, independent thinking and the capability to drive project success.

About the role

As a Principal Engineer, you will play a leading role in the planning, design and delivery of complex maritime infrastructure projects locally, across Australia and internationally, including the delivery of Technical Advisory services on the Westport infrastructure program.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the delivery of marine and port infrastructure projects across feasibility studies, concept development, detailed design and construction support phases.
• Provide technical leadership in the design and assessment of maritime structures including wharves, jetties, berths, quay walls and associated port infrastructure.
• Apply knowledge of marine engineering related to dredging and reclamation works, hydrodynamic and coastal modelling, coastal engineering, navigation assessments, port planning studies and operational reviews.
• Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary project teams, integrating civil, structural, geotechnical and coastal engineering inputs.
• Manage project delivery, schedules, budgets and quality requirements.
• Develop proposals, fee estimates and work-winning strategies.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for future work.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering technical excellence within the team.

About you

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Engineers Australia Chartered (CPEng) status or equivalent professional recognition.
• Extensive experience working in the marine structures field.
• Experience delivering marine infrastructure projects for government, resources, energy and LNG sectors.
• Demonstrated expertise in maritime structural design.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary port project design teams.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and client relationship management skills.
