Your role and responsibilities

As a Technical Service Specialist - (APC/Process Optimization Engineer), you will have the opportunity to act as a plant optimization Technical Service Specialist especially focused on APC (Advanced Process Control) for UAE/Kuwait/Pakistan.

You will ensure the Service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. Each day, you will execute technical support, act as a specialist, and solve problems in your own area of expertise. You will also showcase your expertise by communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams proactively to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth.

The work model for the role is: onsite

This role is contributing to the Automation Energy Industries division in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Main stakeholders are customers, contractors, suppliers, project managers, and engineering colleagues within ABB.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Contributing directly to Optimization and APC projects and opportunities from initial site surveys and benefit assessments through modelling, commissioning and value realization.
• Executing service projects at customer sites and close coordination with Product team across projects in the UAE, Kuwait and Pakistan cluster.
• Identifying tangible benefits that Optimization solutions provide to customers in the Gulf and Pakistan markets, balancing technical requirements with customer value, delivery quality and local business priorities.
• Providing technical support and solving problems in own expertise area via remote or on-site service in any Service category.
• Determining effective Service applications, equipment, and methods to develop, market, or manufacture new Service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost-effectively.

Qualifications for the role

• Experience in successful implementation and execution of advanced process control and energy & process optimization projects in Energy and Process Industries
• Ability to translate advanced process control, process and energy optimization as well as service concepts and external requirements into clear value propositions and technical requirements for customers
• Experience on Plant Optimization solutions which leverage products such as APC and specialized performance optimization software to improve processes, reduce energy consumption and lower emissions
• Possess an enhanced knowledge of plant optimization solutions
• You are passionate about customer collaboration and have good communication skills
• Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent with demonstrated expertise across the Oil & Gas and Power & Water industries
• You are at ease communicating in English with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders
