Who we are
Scriptex is a software engineering firm delivering modular, cloud native systems that help scale ups and enterprises accelerate innovation - without compromising on reliability or quality. We build composable frameworks and platforms that offer operational maturity from day one, enabling faster delivery and scalable software solutions.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a QA Engineer that will ensure that software releases meet business requirements and quality standards through effective test planning, execution and defect management. Translate complex business processes into meaningful test coverage, investigate issues, and collaborate with developers, business analysts, stakeholders and clients. Communicate the testing approach and plans, share clear test outcomes and reports, and explain risks and defects to support informed decisions. Use appropriate QA toolsets—including agentic tools—to streamline test design and execution, analyse results and support defect investigation, applying sound judgement and validating tool-generated outputs.

- Perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory and end-to-end testing across web applications, APIs and system integrations.
- Validate data accuracy and consistency using SQL queries.
- Log clear, reproducible defects with supporting evidence, assess their severity and verify fixes.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and support business users throughout the process.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, tests and defects.
- Report test progress, coverage, outstanding defects and release risks.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations on release readiness.
- Identify opportunities for automation and contribute to automated regression coverage.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- At least five years of software testing experience, including responsibility for testing complex business applications.
- A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, testing lifecycle and Agile delivery.
- Demonstrated experience testing web applications, APIs and integrations.
- Strong SQL skills for validating and investigating data.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Experience with test and defect management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira or equivalent.
- Experience working independently and coordinating testing across multiple stakeholders.
Advantageous Experience
- ISTQB certification.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or a similar automation framework.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
- Experience testing role-based permissions, approval workflows, pricing calculations, billing or procurement processes.
- Exposure to performance, accessibility and security testing.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and SQL Server.
- Using AI-enabled or agentic tools to support test planning, test case design, test data preparation, exploratory testing, automation or defect investigation.
