Job Description

Potentiam is a fast-growing global offshore solutions provider connecting top talent with leading UK and European businesses. With offices across South Africa, Romania, India, and Brazil, we offer international exposure, real career progression, and the opportunity to work with high-performing global teams. We combine global opportunity with local support giving you the chance to grow, make an impact, and build a long-term career in a business that’s scaling fast. Global clients. Clear progression. Real opportunity.

About the Opportunity

We are recruiting a hands-on Finance Manager on behalf of an innovative, global demand-generation company. This is a 12-month maternity-cover contract and an excellent opportunity for a capable finance professional who enjoys ownership, variety and commercial exposure.

The role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be the sole finance professional supporting entities across the UK, US, UAE, India and Singapore. You will take ownership of day-to-day financial control, month-end reporting, payroll oversight, invoicing, reconciliations and forecasting, working closely with local payroll providers and external accountants where needed. Alongside maintaining a strong operational finance function, you will improve reporting, develop practical forecasting tools and provide clear commercial insight to support leadership decisions and planned business growth across the US and EMEA.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the monthly close process and deliver accurate, timely management accounts.
  • Prepare and review P&L, balance sheet and multi-currency cash-flow reporting, with meaningful variance analysis and commentary.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, reconciliations and balance-sheet discipline.
  • Oversee payroll across the international entities and coordinate local payroll providers.
  • Manage invoicing, day-to-day finance controls and the accuracy of financial data across systems.
  • Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and periodic reforecasting.
  • Develop and refine reporting packs, KPIs and financial models for leadership use.
  • Provide commercially useful analysis, insight and decision support to the Managing Director and operational teams.
  • Support tax, statutory and compliance matters in partnership with external advisers.

About you

You will bring solid experience from a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or senior management-accounting role, ideally within a fast-paced or evolving business environment. You will also have:

  • CIMA or ACCA Qualification
  • Strong management accounting and financial-control expertise.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and analytical reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to build, review and improve financial models and reports.
  • A sound understanding of P&L, balance-sheet and cash-flow dynamics.
  • Confidence working with incomplete or evolving data and turning it into practical financial insight.
  • The ability to work independently while building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
  • Exposure to project-based accounting would be advantageous.

What we’re looking for

You are detail-oriented but commercially aware; proactive rather than reactive; and calm, dependable and methodical under pressure. You enjoy taking ownership, improving ways of working and helping leaders make well-informed decisions.

Location and working hours

This role is remote or hybrid, with flexibility required to work UK business hours.
