The Role and Impact

As a Supply Chain Engineer, you will play a vital role in shaping Intel's supply chain ecosystem by driving process improvements, supplier readiness, and materials innovation that directly impact product manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scalability. Day-to-day, you will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to optimize manufacturing processes, mitigate risks, and ensure alignment with Intel's cost, quality, and technology expectations. Your contributions will enable Intel to maintain its leadership in semiconductor technology while advancing sustainability and supply chain resilience.

Business Group

This position is part of the Global Materials Organization (GMO) within Foundry Construction and Sourcing (FCS). The GMO team is instrumental in partnering with suppliers and internal teams to develop and implement reliable and innovative supply chain strategies. By driving supplier collaboration and process optimization, the team supports Intel's broader goals of delivering cutting-edge semiconductor technologies with industry-leading quality, cost, and sustainability practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute supply chain strategies tailored to material and process readiness needs.
• Collaborate with suppliers to assess and improve manufacturing processes for scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Partner with Technology Development and Factory teams to address materials-related challenges in high-volume manufacturing.
• Manage supplier-driven change controls, ensuring alignment, documentation, and risk mitigation.
• Perform supplier risk assessments and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure supply chain continuity.
• Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) principles to optimize supplier operations and quality systems.
• Investigate and resolve supply chain excursions through root-cause analysis and data-driven problem-solving.
• Conduct supplier quality system evaluations to ensure compliance with Intel's standards.
• Lead supplier selection processes, negotiate supplier contracts, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Gather and analyze market intelligence to inform sourcing decisions and strengthen Intel's competitive position.
• Collaborate with suppliers to co-develop enabling technologies and align manufacturing capabilities with Intel roadmaps.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• 1+ years of experience to manage supplier-driven change controls and perform risk assessments.
• 1+ years of experience with technical documentation and interpretation, including compliance and audit procedures.
• 2+ years of experience with supplier manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies.
• Experience with design of experiments in a Lab setting, as well as Lab metrology experience.
• Proficiency in electroplating techniques.
• Effective presentation and communication skills for technical and business discussions.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and lead problem-solving initiatives.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:

$89,010.00-170,630.00 USD

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Work Model for this Role
