Your New Role...

This position reports to the Director of Global Field Engineering and is responsible for the timely and professional support of a 24x7x365 broadcast environment. The Supervisor provides oversight of Live Production Incident Management and Request Fulfillment processes, manages a team of broadcast and IT support professionals, and ensures a seamless transition of On-Air issues and project activities between shifts. The role is based in Atlanta, GA (East Point Location) with a minimum of three days per week in-office and requires frequent domestic and occasional international travel. The Supervisor must maintain technical proficiency to assume a hands-on engineering role in remote field environments when operational needs demand, including the ability to physically lift and move equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.

Supervises a team of field engineers providing 24/7 broadcast and IT services in support of live sports and news productions. Manages incident response, scheduling, staffing, and process improvement across field operations while serving as a technical resource and escalation point for complex live events. Accountable for shift performance, service level delivery, and the ongoing development of a high-performing field engineering team.

Your Role Accountabilities...

• Team Management
  • Supervise a team of 10+ field engineers providing 24/7 broadcast and IT services to support live sports and news broadcasts globally.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and development of team members to adapt to evolving workloads and technology.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with processes and identify service improvement opportunities.
• Collaboration & Process Improvement
  • Minimum three days per week in-office to engage operations leaders, plan staffing, and strengthen cross-functional partnerships.
  • Assist the Director in setting strategy and department goals aligned with News & Sports priorities.
  • Coordinate with News & Sports Planning and peers to develop field deployment assignments and improve resource efficiency.
  • Drive adoption of MFP (REMI) kits and workflow changes with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Implement new field technology and best practices in line with WBD global strategies.
• Remote Execution & Event Coordination
  • Frequent travel to sports and news events to evaluate live productions, consult with clients, and identify execution efficiencies.
  • Ensure field gear readiness ahead of key production events.
  • Align scheduling resource availability with commercial objectives to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Technical Field Support
  • Assume hands-on engineering role during remote productions when required, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting of contribution and broadcast equipment.
  • Serve as escalation point and technical resource for field engineers on complex or critical productions.
  • Maintain current working knowledge of field broadcast technologies to remain deployable as a practitioner along with supervisory duties.

Qualifications & Experiences...

• 5+ years' experience in live and news/sport field technology deployments and implementations.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and inspire a team.
• Proven track record supervising high-performing teams with a self-starter mentality and end-to-end ownership of assignments.
• Demonstrated follow-through discipline: track record of owning tasks end-to-end, proactively removing blockers, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
• Prior hands-on experience as a field engineer or in a live production engineering role is required.
• Working knowledge of signal flow, contribution workflows, and the technical demands of live broadcast environments sufficient to lead, assess, and guide engineers in the field.
• Adept at working collaboratively with cross-functional service delivery teams.
• Proactive in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and issue avoidance.
• Adaptable and flexible in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to represent the department globally.
• Ability to prioritize and work autonomously under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Experience in budget and expense management.
• Demonstrated hands-on technical proficiency with broadcast field equipment; ability to operate independently as a field engineer when required.
