Location: Remote (Training/onboarding onsite for a minimum of 2 weeks and quarterly onsite meetings required; otherwise, remote)

Hours: Monday – Friday 7am – 5pm (shift will be within these days/times)

Compensation:

• Salary: $30.66/hour

ABOUT THE JOB

MU Health Care is looking for a dynamic and dedicated pharmacy technician to join our team as a Patient Medication Liaison – Medication Adherence. In this position, you will play a critical role ensuring patients are adherent with their medications. Your role will involve supporting our Mizzou Pharmacy locations working directly with those patients who are on multiple prescriptions, synching their prescription fills and coordinating refills. We are seeking a candidate who not only possesses the technical skills required for the position but also embodies a commitment to enhancing the patient experience. Effective communication is key, as you will be fostering relationships between patients, physicians, and other pharmacy team members. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

• Conduct prospective medication prior authorization services to expedite clinic and discharge workflow and enhance the patient experience.
• Coordinate refill and prescription renewal requests by pre-screening patients for viable payment sources and managing reimbursement issues.
• Facilitate effective working relationships and consistent communication between clinics, hospitals, patients, and pharmacies.
• Identify and refer appropriate patients to medication assistance programs.
• Perform the duties of a pharmacy technician as required and other duties as assigned.
• May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
• Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within one (1) year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• One (1) year of college.
• Two (2) years of retail pharmacy experience.
• Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
