Cisco network engineer (travel & remote - no c2c)

NOTE
This role involves TRAVEL - average of 2 trips a month lasting 2-4 days to different facilities. Candidates must be comfortable with this. This person can work remotely between these trips, and preference is for someone based in Michigan who could do some in person collaboration with the team at the headquarters in Grand Rapids.

Description

Our client is looking for a Network Engineer to join their Facilities focused network engineering team. The right candidate will have strong experience with core routing & switching with Cisco Catalyst, and should also be comfortable supporting Cisco ISE, SD-WAN, and Palo Alto firewalls (for each of these technologies, another team owns the core configuration, but this team will interact with each of them). This role also requires the creation of standard operations procedures and strong documentation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

With this person being focused on the networking in the distribution centers rather than the core data center, prior experience with this type of distributed network would be beneficial.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
