Mission — Why the Job Exists

As an Automated QA Engineer, your mission is to strengthen the quality, reliability, and release confidence of our software solutions through effective test automation. You will help build and evolve automated testing across web applications, APIs, and data layers, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify issues earlier, improve test coverage, and continuously enhance our QA practices; including the practical use of AI-assisted testing tools and techniques.

Outcomes — What Success Looks Like

• Strengthen automated test coverage: Design, develop, and maintain reliable automated tests for web applications using Selenium and other appropriate automation technologies, increasing coverage of critical business workflows and reducing reliance on repetitive manual testing.
• Ensure API quality: Build and execute comprehensive automated API tests using Postman and SOAPUI, validating REST and SOAP services, integrations, error handling, and expected system behavior.
• Validate data integrity: Use SQL to validate application data, troubleshoot issues, verify test results, and ensure data consistency across systems and integrations.
• Improve regression testing: Maintain and execute automated regression suites that provide timely, actionable feedback on software quality and support confident releases.
• Embed automation into CI/CD: Use Jenkins and related CI/CD practices to integrate automated testing into development and release pipelines, improving the speed and consistency of quality checks.
• Drive effective defect resolution: Investigate test failures, analyze logs and data, document defects clearly, and collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to support timely resolution.
• Advance QA practices: Identify opportunities to improve automation frameworks, test design, and QA processes, including evaluating and applying AI-assisted testing approaches where they can improve efficiency, coverage, analysis, or maintainability.
• Provide visibility into quality: Communicate test progress, quality trends, risks, and issues clearly to technical and business stakeholders throughout the software development life cycle.

Skills & Competencies — How the Work Gets Done

Core Technical Experience

• Proven experience in automated software testing, particularly for web applications and integrated systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium for web application test automation.
• Strong SQL skills, with the ability to query and validate data as part of testing and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing and automation.
• Experience testing SOAP services, ideally using SOAPUI, as well as REST APIs.
• Practical experience with Jenkins and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot automated test failures, analyze logs, isolate root causes, and communicate findings effectively.
• Experience working collaboratively throughout the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, and release.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
• Interest in or practical experience using AI-assisted tools and techniques in software testing, such as supporting test-case generation, test maintenance, defect analysis, or identifying opportunities to improve test coverage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Salary Range

$70,000 to $80,000 UY. Compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for this position only. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills as well as your years of experience. Similar positions located in different geographic regions will not necessarily receive the same compensation.

Location

This is a hybrid position and requires employees to work from our Montevideo office two days per week. We are a global organization using English as a primary language, with job descriptions and communications available in local languages where required.
