Description

The Software Engineer II is responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise-level software solutions that deliver measurable value to the business. Building on the foundational responsibilities of the Software Engineer I role, the Software Engineer II is expected to take greater ownership of complex projects, contribute to architectural decisions, mentor junior developers, and ensure code quality across the team.

This is a hybrid in-office/remote role to support our Sousse-based team. Our office policy allows teammates to work remote 3 days/week, with an expectation of 2 days/week in-office.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of new and existing software applications to support company goals.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical design decisions, ensuring scalability and sustainability.
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code following Test Driven Development (TDD) practices.
• Mentor and support more junior developers through code reviews and pairing.
• Actively engage in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Demonstrate troubleshooting and debugging skills, resolving complex technical challenges.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with global teammates to align development with business priorities.
• Ensure best practices in version control, release cycle management, and documentation.
• Take initiative in improving development processes, tools, and team efficiency.
• Represent the development team with professionalism and clear communication in end-user interactions.
• Apply an understanding of the retail marketplace to solutions that directly support client and internal needs.

Requirements:

• Fluency in written and spoken English
• License, Engineering degree, or Master’s in computer science or related field
• 3+ years of professional experience designing and implementing software to solve business problems
• Proficiency in C#, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
• Demonstrated experience with Agile/Scrum development
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively and communicate technical concepts clearly

Preferred:

• Experience with RESTful service architecture and web application patterns
• Experience with cloud-based architectures, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Proficiency with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application development
• Experience with Entity Framework, serverless functions, and microservices
• Test/Behavior Driven Development experience
• Experience designing and shipping AI-enabled features that integrate LLM APIs (e.g. OpenAI and Anthropic) and reference both structured and unstructured data
