Job Description

Autoliv's primary goal is to Save More Lives. Our products never get a second chance. This is why we can never compromise on quality. We are working to increase vehicle safety by developing seatbelts, airbags and steering wheels and you can be part of our team as Industrial Engineer.

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the local production site by providing technical expertise for manufactured products throughout the product lifecycle. This includes interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications, assessing legal, safety, and business risks, developing and validating test methods and test plans, and leading problem-solving and root cause analysis activities. You will drive the validation and implementation of engineering changes, new products, and component introductions for all customers, ensuring compliance with APQP requirements, customer-specific methodologies, and internal quality standards. Additionally, you will maintain accurate project documentation and manage customer portal updates to support successful product launches and ongoing production activities.

Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve:

  • Lead the implementation of product and application engineering changes at the production site, collaborating with Core Engineering, Launch Engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution and minimal operational impact.
  • Manage and coordinate the engineering change process, including ECR assessments, AS007 checklist completion, CCB presentations, implementation planning, and documentation of lessons learned.
  • Plan and execute line trials, PSOs, PV builds, and validation activities for new products, components, and engineering changes to ensure compliance with customer and internal requirements.
  • Maintain product configuration accuracy by ensuring BOMs are updated and aligned across engineering and manufacturing systems, conducting regular audits between E-BOM, M-BOM, JDE, and Man-IT.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, customers, and quality teams by interpreting specifications, participating in audits and customer visits, leading problem-solving activities, and ensuring compliance with product and testing requirements.

If you have/are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Design Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in product launches, engineering projects, or application engineering within the automotive industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of Automotive Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC, with experience supporting engineering changes and product launches.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects, with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD systems, engineering drawings, and customer portal management, with excellent technical reporting and communication skills for customers, suppliers, and senior leadership.

We will be more than glad to chat with you about your experience and your career goals.

In our international work setting, you will find a range of opportunities that are designed to enhance your career and personal development. Including new and different perspectives is part of what ensures the team’s success. We are committed to develop people’s skills, knowledge and creative potential. Our training and development programs emphasize technical competency, leadership development and business management skill.
