At Rolls-Royce we are proud to be a business that has truly helped to shape the modern world and are committed to always being a force for progress; powering, protecting and connecting people everywhere.
By joining Rolls-Royce, you'll have the opportunity to work on world-class solutions, supported by a culture that believes individuality is our greatest strength, and all perspectives, experiences and backgrounds help us innovate and enable our high-performance culture.
A new, exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lifecycle Engineer to join our Product Maturity & Cost team within Controls Lifecycle Engineering.
The Controls Lifecycle Engineering team provides technical support for in-service mechanical and electrical system products across the Civil, Commercial and Business Aviation engine families, including air, oil, fuel and electrical Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) as well as maintaining the continued successful in-service operation and reliability of engine fleets. This includes processing and analysing LRU service data to provide insights and effect change to influence safety, reliability, and cost.
The Lifecycle Engineer will be responsible for providing meaningful insights identifying opportunities for significant cost and maturity improvements. Motivated to see the realisation of these opportunities, they will be capable of leading their delivery through the appropriate channels.
This role also provides ample opportunities to work with our network of internal and external Customers, Partners, Suppliers and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul facilities, both driving the delivery of data and monitoring their performance.
Highly flexible with an engineering background, they will be capable of supporting wider Lifecycle Engineering activities such as unit and fleet level investigations.
Educated to degree level in a STEM subject and/or have experience in a relevant engineering environment (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls). Other qualifications, in combination with relevant experience, may also be considered.
Candidates should be highly numerate with strong technical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability and capable of both component and systems level thinking.
Familiarity with in-service and control systems operation, particularly for civil aerospace engine products would be advantageous.
Highly self-motivated with excellent communication and presentation skills to influence both internal and external parties, at all levels of the business.
Good time management and planning skills, able to prioritise and execute complex tasks in a high-pressure environment with an ability to identify and manage risk in collaboration with team members.
Our vision is to ensure that the excellence and ingenuity that shaped our history continues into our future. Our multi-year transformation programme aims to turn Rolls-Royce into a high-performing, competitive, resilient and growing company. Join us, and it can be your future vision too.
Rolls-Royce are committed to being a respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory workplace where individuality is valued, diverse perspectives fuel innovation, and everyone can thrive.
Please be aware that the priority will be given to employees identified as being at high risk. The job is advertised at the grades shown, and this is the desired operating level for this role. We encourage applications from candidates with relevant experience from any grade.
It is advised that you inform your current manager of your application for this role.
