We're looking for an Audit Manager to help provide assurance over the systems and technology that underpin Nationwide's payment services. Whether your background is in payments or technology audit, or a combination of both, you'll play a key role in assessing the security, resilience and reliability of services that matter to our customers.
You’ll lead audits across a diverse range of payment technologies and business initiatives, assessing key controls, exploring emerging risks and providing clear insights that support meaningful change.
We enjoy tackling complex challenges and finding better ways to work. By using data, analytics and technology, we deliver deeper insight and more impactful audits while creating opportunities for people to learn, grow and build rewarding careers. If you’re curious, collaborative and motivated to improve how things work, you’ll thrive here.
We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.
The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon, London or Glasgow office. If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here here.
If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.

You’ll shape audit scopes, manage delivery and produce reporting that gets to the point, highlights what needs attention and helps leaders make well-informed decisions.
You’ll also build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, helping us stay close to emerging risks, understand where controls matter most and focus our work where it can add the most value.
You are an experienced auditor or risk assurance specialist with a genuine interest in how payment systems work end-to-end.
