You will support in strengthening the control environment across AFC Operations by driving governance, conformance, audit readiness, issue remediation oversight and control effectiveness activities. The role will provide independent challenge, transparency and coordination across operational teams, helping ensure regulatory, policy and risk management expectations are consistently met while enabling sustainable operational improvement.

Your key responsibilities

• Support the Control Governance & Conformance capability in defining, embedding and maintaining the AFC Operations control strategy and governance framework.
• Support coordination of conformance reviews, audit and regulatory activities, providing consistent oversight across AFC Operations.
• Provide independent challenge on control design and effectiveness, operational risks, issues, root causes and remediation priorities.
• Establish management information, metrics and reporting that provide transparent views of control health, emerging risks and remediation delivery.
• Facilitate governance forums covering audit actions, regulatory commitments, control issues and evidence of sustainable closure.
• Partner together with capability leads and subject-matter experts to strengthen control execution, documentation, evidence management, accountability and continuous improvement.

Your skills and experience

• Strong experience within Risk, Controls, Governance, Audit, Compliance or Financial Crime functions in financial services.
• Practical experience overseeing operational control frameworks, control effectiveness assessments and conformance activities.
• Proven track record coordinating audit, regulatory review, issue management and sustainable remediation in a highly regulated environment.
• Ability to provide independent challenge, identify control weaknesses and risk themes, and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and root-cause assessment skills, with experience producing management information, assurance reporting and control-health assessments.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to operate effectively across complex, global organisations.
