HARMAN Professional develops automated lighting fixtures under the Martin brand. Martin by HARMAN is one of the world leaders in R&D and manufacturing automated, intelligent entertainment and architectural lighting.

This role is focused on the long term, building the Martin Professional Lighting brand across markets and territories across the world, and contributes to the success of the Harman Professional Solutions global business. You will be part of our Product Management team, based in Aarhus, Denmark in the position of: Product Manager, Theatre & Broadcast Lighting.

What You’ll Be Part Of:

The Product Manager, Theatre & Broadcast Lighting, is an expert that manages all aspects of the product life cycle process for the full portfolio this position owns. This role will be expected to conduct market research, generate product specifications and pricing, create business plans and support strategy development for this product portfolio. The role will need to be able lead and liaise with other internal teams including R&D, regional sales, global marketing and operations teams.

How You’ll Make An Impact:

The Product Manager will work with his superior to develop portfolio strategies in line with the long-term strategic vision for this segment. The Product Manager will have an in-depth working knowledge of these products and their application. Essential responsibilities will include:

• Via broad cross-functional collaboration, lead products through the full lifecycle - from concept, development and launch, through sustaining lifetime initiatives until final discontinuation or replacement.
• Analyse markets and competitors, then translate insights into clear value propositions and customer requirements found on a deep understanding of application needs.
• Develop and maintain the product roadmap in line with strategy, market demands, and future opportunities.
• Prepare new product proposals, business cases, and concept documents for new products.
• Apply strong product and market knowledge to educate and collaborate with Sales, helping grow product market share.
• Partner with Marketing and Sales to plan and execute product launches and go-to-market activities that ensure strong positioning and successful market introductions.
• Support development of marketing assets for launch and sustaining needs.
• Educate Sales Directors and their teams with clear product messaging and support with ad-hoc promotional initiatives, trade shows, sales events etc.
• Produce and support development of sales enablement assets and tools.
• Train and support Product and Application Specialists.
• Contribute to team goals by collaborating and delivering related tasks as needed.
• Set product pricing using market research and business intelligence, while considering production and sales costs and volume forecasts from regional sales teams.
• Track sales performance of portfolio and identify needs for promotions, sales tools, or other activities needed to address underperforming products or regions.
• Maintain solid market, technical, and commercial expertise through direct hands-on engagement with customers, end users, and lighting designers, supplemented by industry media, professional networks, and events.

What Makes You A Strong Fit:

Extensive experience in the professional live event and stage lighting industry, especially around theatre and broadcast lighting. Expert level of lighting products for this segment. In depth knowledge of the performance lighting market with thorough understanding of needs and workflows for customers, lighting designers and other industry professionals. Thorough understanding of sub-verticals, applications and use cases. Ability to configure, program and operate lighting console for product demos and reviews. Must be fluent in English in all areas: reading, writing and speaking.

To complete the demands of the role this person must:

• Have experience writing detailed and sound business plans and product specifications.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to vary personal style to different audiences, including sales and marketing team members and R&D project teams.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills for internal and external events.
• Proven negotiating and motivational skills involved in resourcing projects for new products.

Things To Know:

Willingness to work at Harman Professional Denmark office in Aarhus. Willingness to travel globally a minimum of 50 days per year.
