Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Senior Manager, Tax on a permanent full-time basis within our Finance team. This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based in Saskatoon, SK.

Join our Finance team as the Senior Manager, Tax, where you'll lead FCL's corporate income tax function while providing strategic oversight to our Commodity Tax team. You'll play a key role in tax planning, compliance, financial reporting, audits, tax optimization, and business decision-making across FCL and the Co-operative Retailing System.

What you’ll do:

• Lead FCL’s corporate income tax function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant income tax filings, provisions, IFRS disclosures, future income tax calculations, reconciliations, and supporting documentation across FCL and its subsidiaries.
• Provide strategic tax planning and technical advice on acquisitions, transactions, restructurings, capital projects, and business initiatives, including CCA optimization, SR&ED, and other tax incentives to support effective tax outcomes and informed decisions.
• Oversee tax audits, disputes, compliance, and tax authority relationships, including CRA and provincial reviews, developing defensible tax positions, coordinating responses and information requests, and supporting appeals and settlements as required.
• Manage tax cash and financial integration, including income tax instalments, refunds, tax receivables and payables, balance sheet accounts, and the integration of income tax into budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, patronage calculations, acquisitions, and other key financial initiatives.
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Commodity Tax function, including approximately 88 fuel tax and sales tax returns across eight provincial jurisdictions, significant tax remittances, compliance audits, risk management, team priorities, and ongoing team development.
• Drive continuous improvement across the Tax function, strengthening processes, internal controls, data quality, audit readiness, and technology while partnering with Finance, business units, CRS Retail members, Government Relations, external advisors, and other stakeholders to manage tax risk and deliver value.

Who you’ll work with:

The Team: Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting, you'll lead the Tax function within FCL's Financial Reporting & Tax team. You'll provide direct leadership to the Commodity Tax Manager and indirect oversight of the broader Commodity Tax team.

You'll work closely with Financial Reporting, Corporate Accounting, Finance leaders, business units, Government Relations, CRS Retail members, external tax advisors, and federal and provincial taxation authorities. You'll also provide technical guidance to Finance team members and help ensure tax considerations are embedded into business and financial decisions across the organization.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Finance and:

• Have 8+ years of progressive tax experience, including corporate income tax, tax compliance, tax provision, and financial reporting within a complex, multi-entity organization.
• Have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or a related field.
• A Professional tax designation or advanced tax education, such as CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax Program (completed or in progress), is considered an asset.
