Job Description

We're seeking a highly motivated DevOps Manager to empower our global development organization. If you thrive in leading cross-functional teams, collaborating across diverse locations, and have a passion for optimizing development processes and tools, this role is for you.

What you'll do:

• Lead the charge: Guide and mentor a high-performing DevOps team across next-generation infrastructure development, toolchain modernization, and release automation.
• Bridge legacy and next-gen: Oversee the ongoing integration of legacy infrastructure and release support while migrating services toward unified, modern platforms.
• Optimize CI/CD & build performance: Spearhead pipeline improvements and strategies to drastically reduce continuous integration build times and streamline deployment velocity.
• Drive developer productivity: Lead the team to provision seamless, consistent development environments and standardized tooling to minimize developer setup time and remove operational friction.
• Embed security & compliance: Integrate security standards, dependency tracking, and compliance checks directly into the SDLC and release infrastructure from the ground up.
• Balance operations & strategy: Manage work and effectively prioritize day-to-day operational support and tech debt alongside long-term strategic roadmap goals.
• Foster cross-functional alignment: Collaborate closely with IT and product teams to establish unified engineering standards and clear technical debt prioritization processes.

What you bring:

• Proven leadership: 3+ years of experience leading and motivating DevOps teams.
• Technical expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience in development or DevOps, demonstrating a strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps best practices.
• Educational foundation: A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• Agile enthusiast: A deep understanding and appreciation for Agile methodologies.
• Jira proficiency: Experience utilizing Jira for project management and issue tracking.
• Communication ace: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to foster collaboration and understanding.

Bonus points for:

• Version control guru: Familiarity with source code management systems such as Git and GitHub.
• Build system aficionado: Experience with Bamboo, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Cloud infrastructure expert: Knowledge of Azure, AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms.
• Containerization champion: Proficiency in Docker and containerization technologies.

This position is based in Vancouver, BC and the candidate must reside in the Greater Vancouver Area as you will be required to go into the office on a hybrid work schedule.

Target Base Salary Range:

$145,000 - 175,000 CAD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
