About the role:

At bp, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for a HR Administration Specialist: to join our People & Culture team in Belgium. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining HR administration, employee support, payroll coordination, and local employment expertise to deliver a high-quality employee experience. This role is ideal for someone with experience in HR operations, employee services, HR administration, or payroll coordination who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while making a real impact for employees and managers. The role is fundamentally an HR Operations and Local HR Generalist position with payroll coordination responsibilities rather than a payroll processing role.

What you'll do:

As a key point of contact for Belgium-based employees and managers, you'll provide support across the employee lifecycle while helping ensure local compliance and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Fluency in Dutch and English. French language skills would be an advantage
• Managing employee lifecycle administration, including onboarding, internal moves, contractual changes, and offboarding.
• Supporting payroll preparation activities, validating employee data, and coordinating with our payroll provider to ensure accurate payroll outcomes.
• Acting as a trusted local HR contact for employees and managers, responding to HR, benefits, leave, and payroll-related queries.
• Supporting compliance with Belgian employment legislation and local processes.
• Coordinating employment documentation and employee records.
• Managing HR data and ensuring accuracy across HR systems.
• Working closely with HR, Reward, Finance, Legal, Employee Relations, and external providers to deliver seamless employee support.
• Supporting process improvements, system enhancements, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Contributing to projects that enhance the employee experience and strengthen service delivery.

What we're looking for

We're interested in hearing from people who bring a combination of HR operations knowledge, customer focus, and local expertise. You'll likely have:

• Experience in HR administration, employee services, HR operations, payroll coordination, or a similar role.
• Knowledge of Belgian employment legislation and local HR practices.
• Experience supporting payroll preparation, payroll data validation, or payroll vendor management.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and administrative accuracy.
• A customer-focused mindset with the ability to build positive working relationships.
• The ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Experience using HR systems such as Workday or similar platforms.
