We are seeking a dynamic and commercially focused Head of Vision Care ANZ to lead and drive the performance of our Vision Care business across ANZ. Vision Care develops and delivers ophthalmic lenses, vision assessment technologies, and professional solutions for optometrists that enable better visual outcomes while supporting eye care professionals in providing personalized vision care.

This senior leadership role is responsible for the overall performance of the Vision Care business, including strategy, business growth, sales and operations, financial performance, market positioning and team development. Working closely with regional and global stakeholders, the Head of Vision Care will develop and execute go-to-market strategies that align with ZEISS’ broader business objectives, while ensuring local market needs and customer expectations are effectively met. The successful candidate will be a strong people leader and strategic operator, with the ability to build high-performing teams, strengthen customer partnerships and deliver sustainable business results.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

• Develop and implement effective go-to-market strategies, including medium-term planning, budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with regional and local leadership.
• Lead the operational performance of the Vision Care business, ensuring alignment with strategic business unit governance, strategic priorities and financial objectives.
• Prepare business reviews, forecasts and performance reports, and take corrective action where required to support achievement of business objectives.
• Lead, coach, mentor and develop Vision Care employees to support optimal performance, staff development and retention.
• Recruit, manage and motivate high-performing teams, ensuring training needs are identified and fulfilled as required.
• Set and evaluate targets and incentives for local sales and operations teams in line with applicable local and Group-wide incentive rules.
• Position ZEISS prominently in the marketplace, achieving the best possible market share while maintaining profitability.
• Analyse sales channels and identify optimal distribution models, including the management of distributors and agents where appropriate.
• Develop and implement key customer relationship strategies to support long-term partnerships, customer satisfaction and brand strength.
• Oversee marketing activities, including trade shows, advertising, product launches, workshops and speaker presentations.
• Manage business expenses, inventories and investments, ensuring compliance with company policies, quality requirements and relevant procedures.
• Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key skills required for this role include:

• 10+ years’ relevant industry experience in business-to-business-to-consumer sectors.
• Minimum 5 years’ senior management experience, with a proven track record in business development and operational leadership.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to strategically analyse market environments and develop detailed plans to maximise financial performance.
• Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven experience leading, motivating and developing teams for high performance.
• Strong computer literacy, with formal management training regarded as desirable.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
