The Guidance Center

Founded in 1958, The Guidance Center is a mental health care organization headquartered at 13101 Allen Road, Southgate, Michigan. Established by a group of concerned residents and educators who recognized the need for mental health services in the area, the agency has spent more than six decades building collaborative relationships with local communities and schools to support children, adults, and families throughout southeast Michigan. With more than 760 employees, the organization operates 23 locations offering a broad range of programs, including mental health and wellness services, early childhood education, free preschool for low-income families, developmental disabilities support, mentoring, substance use disorder treatment, workforce development, the Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center, Champions of Wayne, and a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, alongside research and evaluation initiatives. Guided by its mission to nurture development, foster resilience, and cultivate well-being, The Guidance Center serves more than 15,000 community members each year as they work toward personal growth and stability.
