Job Description

GovCIO is hiring an Associate Product Manager to support products within a government contract, working alongside senior Product/Program Managers. Responsibilities span project planning, stakeholder communication, risk and scope management, quality control, and documentation. Ideal candidates are self-directed, trustworthy, and familiar with core product management principles. This is a fully remote position.

Responsibilities

The Associate Product Manager will manage and oversee portions of products within the CCIN contract/AAD Task Order, working alongside seasoned Product/Program Managers to support their own continued professional development.

What You'll Do

  • Project Planning & Execution: Help develop project plans, define scope and objectives, build timelines, and monitor progress — flagging delays and taking corrective action to keep work on track.
  • Risk, Scope & Quality Management: Partner with a Product Manager to identify risks, manage scope through a structured change control process, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards through regular review.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Keep team members, stakeholders, and clients informed and aligned, manage expectations, and provide regular progress updates and reporting.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision Making: Address challenges as they arise and make timely, well-informed decisions within project constraints.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date project records, including plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Customer Focus & Continuous Improvement: Ensure the product delivers value to customers, stay adaptable as requirements evolve, and apply lessons learned to improve future work.

What You'll Bring

A demonstrated track record of managing assigned tasks as an Associate Product Manager with minimal oversight. Established trust with colleagues and management through preparation and consistent follow-through on commitments. A working understanding of product management principles and practices.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with 5–8 years of experience (or commensurate experience); demonstrated ability to manage assigned tasks as an Associate Product Manager with minimal oversight.
  • Foundational understanding of product management principles, tools, and practices.
  • Strong organizational skills, including task planning, documentation, and timeline tracking.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging team members, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze problems, and support timely decision-making.
  • Experience maintaining accurate project documentation (plans, status reports, meeting minutes).
  • Proven reliability and trustworthiness, with consistent follow-through on commitments.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, requirements, and project conditions.
  • Basic understanding of risk, scope, and quality management concepts.
  • Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Government contracting experience.
  • Proficiency with Product Management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence).
